Finnair Plus - Quick question re long haul flights and transferring in Helsinki

Hi all

Flying JFK/HEL/DEL tomorrow night.

Couple of quick questions:

- does the lounge (long haul lounge?) have showers and stuff (I am flying business and am OW Emerald)
- what kind of amenities do we get on the plane ... wash kit, sleeper suit, duvets?
- any especially good/bad seats in business class

Hi Nick,

1) Yes, there's a shower in the long haul lounge
2) You get a wash bag and a duved, but no sleeper suit
3) Aircraft is A330-300, Seat Guru does not give any info on preferred seats. You might find the rear J cabin to be quieter with only two rows, but it's also next to economy class: http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Finnair/Finnair_Airbus_A330-300.php

If travelling solo I'd go for 1D or 1H with unlimited legroom and nobody climbing over you, if those are booked, as they often are, my next favourites are any D/H seats on 333.

Main thing is to avoid the second J cabin and you're fine (=biggest chance for infants screaming close to you) :D

If you travel with a partner/friend AC / JL pair offers a bit more privacy than the middle pairs.

If you're flying biz on AY, don't forget to claim your free Suunto Core watch at the reception. Got mine two weeks ago.

One shower in the present Longhaul lounge until December, the new ViaHelsinki lounge opening then will have six shower rooms apart from the spa section.

If occupied or not available, the other choice would be to head to the Scandic hotel in the terminal basement and use their sauna and showers against a 10 euro fee.
