Hi,

I've been on the MEA new A330 J seats, but I've got a few questions about the A321s / A320s.
Seating on the A321:
I've seen the old style "cradle" seat. But now with some A321s painted in the new livery did they do the interior as well? If so, which seats are in now (in J)?

Seating on the A320:
Which seat is it? A321 style or A330?

I was thinking the very same thing; I'm planning a trip for my father to the Frankfurt motor show this year, and after looking up the prices and reviews of the current cradle seating I decided it may not of value.

It's a shame really that for 1300USD a head you get what is considered premium economy at best. LH flies with an all economy where they sell some of the seats as business; pretty bad for the only two airlines that provide direct flights between FRA and BEY.

I'm thinking of going with EK, using my hard earned miles, much better value/quality, plus will get a nice side trip to Dubai.

Is your father in Lebanon? Beirut or other? Well the point is that I'm not sure that it is the cradle seat! That was the whole point of my post: ARE they the cradle seats on the new A320s/repainted A321s? Or the new A330 seats, almost lie-flat?

After all, BEY-FRA is considered a short-haul route, so imagine it as a BA Club Europe flight between LHR and Istanbul, it is even a smaller seat there!

He's in Tripoli; he's 78 years old and can't see him sit in economy even it was for free.

The cradle seats are even on the newer A320s/repainted A321s, that's my understanding.
The hard upgrades are for done for the A330 only.

Great...
True, MEA economy is actually quite tight...
I would recommend him going through Paris on a MEA A330, then connecting to FRA on AF.
Even though quite expensive (though probably not that much more than direct), it seems to me like the best option.

Thanks for the tip; that was one of the options actually.

Hi Guys,

i flew a brand new A320 from BEY to LCA in J and they seemed to have installed the older Recaro recliner seats on these planes, very comfortable though (not like it mattered for a 20 min flight anyway!). Here's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/southbound228/3489829187/) the pic :p

The A320s and A321s have the same Cedar Class seats. In Economy, the A320s have the same seats as on the new A330s, so they are different than those on the A321s.

I personally would have thought the Cedar Class cradle seats would be great for such a short flight. Considering what most US and EU carriers have as 'business class', MEA's cradle seats for the short flights are still way above routing and industry standard. Alitalia used those cradle seats on its long haul magnifica class as did other carriers for routes well beyond 4 hours in length. I still think its good value personally. (PS for an Aussie a 4 hr flight is short/quick run :))

MEA ac have the best seating from BEY to EU be it A320/1 or A330.

I must agree with Cedar Jet with regard to MEA having the best J seating from BEY to EU be it on any plane. Very comfortable seating IMHO.
