I moved from New Orleans to San Francisco just last year and this is what I get for my labor day weekend bachelor party? Really?

Touching down to reality for a second, I sincerely hope the people of Cabo can avoid catastrophe. But really? Do hurricanes of this magnitude ever hit Baja?

Ya, things are not looking too good down there right now. UA has had a travel waiver for Cabo up for at least 2 days now. None of the computer models suggest a direct hit, but surely won't be beach weather.

This is true, but the eye of the storm marks something of a money shot and winds north east of the center generally yield many a nasty tornado. We shall see what happens as the story develops.

This weekend may turn into a relief effort...

Eh, it keeps inching to the east {EDIT: I meant West]. The hurricane winds are only extending out 45 miles and it looks like it'll miss cabo by that much. I spend 75% of my time in MSY so I know what the "dirty side" of the storm means.

The airport is way east of that. I think the airport will be open by Friday. Just hope your hotel is in San Jose. Should make a difference.

I had an airline (WN) land me while a hurricane was still passing through. Airline didn't cancel the flight and we ended up landing between rain bands. So it can happen.
