Virgin America Elevate - 20% off coupon for 1 millionth member - can only book on like six days?

So there's a coupon I got via email to celebrate the millionth member... And the odd part... is that it only lists six days I can book the ticket for...

I'm guessing that they meant to make those date ranges to exclude holiday "blackout" type dates. But they should have made it more clear!

Yes, those should be "between" dates. If you read the small print in the coupon, it is clear there, but they messed up the body of the offer.

Good catch, assuming that's what the meant. The word "Between" should come before the date ranges. Where's the in-house editor?

I got that coupon, too - agree that the language left a lot of room for confusion, but a little logic (is it safe to use that around airlines :eek:) told me what it probably meant - date ranges that excluded the busiest holiday times

One other thing I noticed, is that it says it's usable on Main Cabin and Main Cabin Select fares, but NOT First fares. When I fly VX, I only fly in First, so I'm wondering if I can book using the coupon on a Main Cabin Select fare, and then pay a fare difference to First. If doing that triggers change fees (I assume MCS has change fees - I know First usually doesn't), it may outweigh the coupon, though... I suppose I'm also assuming that the difference I would have to pay would be between the base MCS fare and the First fare... not the 20% off MCS fare and the First fare, in which case I'd be saving nothing!

Finally, I suppose I can always book MCS and hope that a same-day paid Upgrade to First is available (from what I read here, they usually are), but as I have a somewhat irrational fear of coach on any airline, I usually don't like to leave it to chance - even if the chance is pretty good and I stand to safe a few dollars in the process.

MCS does not have change fees.

your only option on this would be a day of departure upgrade to FC, since the promo stipulates your fare can only be in MC or MCS. if you paid a FC fare, it would void the promo.
