Hi,

I am flying with SWISS for the first time this october in business class.

WHat can I expect? I have flown with bmi, cathay, emirates in business, but never SWISS.

Is there a first class cabin? is it possible/worth exploring an upgrade? how do I do that?

thank you.

Hi,

It is ZRH not ZUR :D

First class exists, but your op-up chances are close to zero (upgrade order is as follows: HON, SEN, FTL, XX*G, XX*S).

Aircraft is A340 with lie-flat seats (similar to BMI A330 seats, but slightly less comfortable).

Lounge in HKG is still The Wing (some people love it, for me it is just a lounge).

F/A's are fantastic - LX is still Europe's top airline.

For ZRH departure, remember that the flight leaves out of E-gates, so you will have to clear immigration, take an intra-terminal train, and go through security control, so leave the main terminal lounge slightly earlier (I am not sure if non XX*G passengers can still Bellevue lounge in Terminal E).

Hi,

thanks for your input. I did realise the error I made when I had published the para re: ZUR and not ZRH, but I couldnt find out how to recitfy it :-(

My inbound flight into Zurich arrives only 1 hour before the departure for HKG. Does that mean I risk missing the connection? or should I change my inbound to leave more time?

thank you.!

One hour in ZRH should be more than enough to connect between two flights. Just make sure you are on your way to the E-Terminal straight away.

Since you fly C-class, you should be able to use the Bellevue lounge at the E-Terminal (if time permits).

Regarding upgrading, if you have enough miles to upgrade, definitely worth giving it a try. LX First is supposed to be fantastic ^

Uppps - apologies, I thought you commence journey in ZRH, thus my comment about the main terminal lounge.

1 hour is perfectly OK for ZRH, just go straight to the E-gates.

After all the discussions on the main M&M forum, wasn’t there an agreement that *G comes before FTL?

(For simplicity’s sake, I leave SEN+ out of the list... ;))

According to this post (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11211397-post12.html) the answer is yes. In real life they are probably more interested to please their own FFP status pax.

According to your list- yes. According to what we know through FT- FTLs are upgraded before *G...

Hmmm, I have never been upgraded BEFORE FTL's. Last time they have upgraded me after boarding (when someone else claimed my Economy seat), while my colleague holding FTL status was upgraded at gate.
