Other European Frequent Flyer Programs - Star Gold flying TAP: How to let them know?

We're going to Lisbon and Paris in 3 weeks and flying TAP between LIS and CDW. I'm Star Gold (USAir Platinum) but couldn't find anywhere to indicate this, or use my USAir FF number when making the reservation online. I've tried emailing them but got no response. Do I need to show them my card at checkin or is there a way that I do this in advance (my preference)?
Thanks,

Steve

Simply have your US FF number inserted to the PNR; If you can't do it online call the airline and ask them to insert your FF number; afterwards their computer should automatically figure out you are a Star Gold.

Thanks. I stuck it out on the phone for 20 minutes and they were able to add it.

Make sure it's on the boarding pass. I lived in Lisbon for three years and traveled TAP quite a bit (frustrating) and they often had difficulty figuring out how to correctly enter my UA FF #. Check the BP when you get it - if it's not on there (or *G) then they probably didn't get it right.

BTW, the new TAP lounge in the Lisbon airport is really nice. *G will get you in.

Thanks, I'll check. I had the CS rep read back both of our numbers but that probably doesn't mean much. Are they pretty good about correcting it if it's not there?

The problem I almost always had is that they would enter the number but not the airline code preceding it. So for me it was "UA016XXXXXXXX". The agent kept just trying to enter the number and, of course, it wouldn't take.

Then, I'd tell them to enter UA first. Well, English UA is pronounced YOU AY and Portuguese UE is pronounced OO AY, so they'd enter "UE016XXXXX" and it wouldn't take.

Just make certain either your US FF # is on the BP or *G or USP or something to that effect.

And take your gold card with you. Sometimes on the BP is simply said UAP (or for you USP) and thus the *G wasn't readily identifiable. To access the lounge, you'd then need your card.
