Does anyone know if the domestic sectors qualify for the 400 bonus FOP (http://www.ar.jal.com/world/en/jalmile/fly_on/guide.html) if the ticket is a Super Sale (http://www.ar.jal.com/region/en/flight_planning/fares/yl_jp.html) one? For example, If I am flying LAX-NRT-ITM, will I get 560 (280 * 2) or 960 (280 * 2 + 400) FOPs for the NRT-ITM sector?

I don't know details of U.S.-departures but domestic add-ons are typically booked under Y class if you purchase tickets in BKK or SIN. You are thus eligible for 400 bonus FOP.

Did you ask JL about the booking class of the domestic sector?

I have not checked JL's domestic add-on fare classes recently but I haven't heard or read that changes have been made.

This is in contrast to NH. NH has for months instituted sub-classes for domestic add-ons. If you book a heavily discounted international flight, a domestic add-on will usually be booked under a discount fare subclass not eligible for similar elite qualifying bonus miles.

(NH is ahead of JL in controlling revenue in this and other areas.)

I tried calling them couple times yesterday but I kept getting "We are experiencing high volume of calls" and long wait...

I made a reservation with JTB and they gave me the same price as JAL website (and fare basis too). But the booking class for three out of four of the domestic flights are in G class. According to another JTB agent, the one who made my reservation is a newbie and she's not sure if they can actually issue the ticket like this. As you mentioned, they usually issue domestic add-ons in Y and H. Either JAL starts to catch up with ANA or the JTB agent screwed up (which will really piss me off because JAL was kind enough to clear my heavily discounted ticket on a soldout flight and I can't issue a ticket because of this )

I will try to find out when I call JAL again today...

OK I called JAL and was told the domestic portion is booked in Y class. Which means it qualifies for the 400 bonus FOPs. Still has no idea whether I can issue the reservation I made with JTB (even agents JTB doesn't know themselves but according to JAL they can't unless they have a special contract with JTB)...At the end I just cancel my reservation with JTB cuz I need those 400 bonus :p
