From AFA-CWA newsletter:

AFA-CWA Files Grievance to Protect Midwest Jobs
On August 7, AFA-CWA filed a grievance to defend the Midwest
flight attendant contract and to protect their jobs. The
grievance will go directly to the System Board of Adjustment. It
maintains that all Midwest Airlines flying should be performed
by Midwest flight attendants on the Midwest Airlines System
Seniority list. To view the grievance, go to www.meafa.com . The
Midwest MEC has also contacted the Teamster union Local 135,
which represents Republic flight attendants, to begin the
process for merging seniority lists following the purchase of
Midwest Airlines by Republic. At the first integration meeting
on August 12, a seniority integration agreement was not reached.
The dispute will now be scheduled for arbitration.

Why am I not surprised. I think that Republic just wants to get rid of Midwests most senior and high paid flight attendants

Yes AFA filed the grievence and I doubt they will win since they(YX) are owned by RAH. Also AFA met with Teamsters. AFA wants date of hire and the would pretty much bump all RAH F/A's. Teamsters said no to DOH but would consider relative seniority for the entire list (including all furloughed and active F/A's at both YX and F9). AFA said no and wants to go to arbitration. If it goes to arbitration the lists will only merge active F/A's and all furloughs will go to the bottom. F9 F/A's have stated they will entertain relative seniority with a fence which isn't a big deal to RAH F/A's. Furloughed F/A's from both companies are being offered preferential hiring by RAH to get them back working and those F/A's will hold two slots on the seniority list. Longevity will be decided by the arbitrator and the company after the seniority lists are merged. We will see what happens.

Does it matter if there is a YX certificate? Will they have an argument since there will not be a YX certificate in the future?
I thought that once that certificate is gone so are the contracts of the union. Correct me if I'm wrong or if there is another process.

You can't view the grievence....the link you posted is only for MEP flight attendants that have access.
