I am confused.

JetBlue has 2 flights from SFO to JFK tomorrow.

The press release says that as of January, there is an additional SFO-JFK flight, for a total of 2 flights a day on that route. Am I missing something?

VX just increased its bag fees to $20. If B6 keeps its bag fee at $0, B6 should be able to capture market share at SFO from VX. The expanded schedule will certainly help.

I think that the 2nd flight is a seasonal flight, and not year round. Presumably with this announcement the non-red-eye flight is year round.

Yeah, they don't want to get increased the bags fees. It might to kept it same exact the bags fee is $15 first bags & 2nd bags is $50. I seems enough for that. I think it's time to bring free of charge for checked bags back. B6 want to try to keep costly low.

Just a thought... Could B6 ramping up coverage at the West Coast dots for a possible connection points (i.e. SFO) into YVR?

Where are the additional LGB slots coming from? Or is something else being canceled

I agree. I think it would eventually to bring more capacity growth from SFO-PHX/SAN/PDX/SEA/YVR/LAS/MCO/YYC/YEG/YYZ/YUL/LAX. It will try to expandable more new Mexican routes out of SFO-PVR/MZT/SJD/ACA/CUN/CZM/MEX. It will have enough more demand out of SFO focus cities. It will have to be considers for SFO-PBI/JAX/TPA/HOU/MSY.

IF most of those cities are in the cards for B6 out of SFO, it won't be for a long ways off. I think any ones (but probably not all) we might see in anywhere in the near future (3 year time frame) would be YVR, LAS, SEA, PHX, and LAX. (It would suprise me if these B6 did all these cites in the near future. I'm thinking alongs the lines of them adding one or two).

But back to to my original thought... YVR???

The slots are coming from the cancelled SJC-LGB route, which operated 3x daily.

So B6 is not adding a flight, but rather not canceling one for the winter?

SFO-JFK operated 1x last winter. So this is actually a net increase.

Interestingly, SFO-BOS didn't operate last winter at all, and this year it will have 2x. Quite an increase in capacity.

B6 must have a lot of confidence to add that much TCON capacity. It has been only a year ago that TCON flights were cut left and right!
It seems to me that this is a move to strangle VX. Am I right?

It's a cross between lower gas prices new (~$1.50 per gallon lower than last year) and protecting B6 territory against the competitor.
