Can't believe there's not a thread on this place already!

Stayed here quite a bit late last year and have had another couple of stays in the last two weeks or so.

The 2-4-1 rate was up and running so made the place affordable!

Hotel seemed very quiet and on both stays got an upgrade to the club floor as a result of the Platinum status which comes with the communications package (so free pay TV, internet etc) but if you want club access you have to pay extra (£30/nt).

This does seem an improvement on last year when I frequently got nothing in the way of an upgrade as a Plat.

Paid for the lounge on the first stay but didn't feel it was value for money even with two of us there - the food in the lounge in the evenings is minimal/poor and the wine is downright rough. Breakfast is nice (but not that nice).

Good location for my client's office so am sure i'll be back but wonder how those rates will creep now summer's gone!

Worth reminding future readers that Blackfriars tube station - next to the hotel - is closed until 2011 for rebuilding. It is only 5-10 minutes walk to St Pauls or Mansion House, though.

Weekend parking rates are incredibly cheap with the City being such a Monday - Friday only area of London. Stayed there using points earlier this year and actually drove as parking was far cheaper than the train fare to London.
