Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - TK First Class Hotel Service

Hi

I have a redemption booking in F from LHR - Minsk via Istanbul which requires an overnight stay in Istanbul.

Does anyone have experience of which hotels TK use for their transit passengers? Given my transit is 20 hours and I want to use the layover for a couple of business meetings, I have asked for a downtown hotel. TK's (very helpful) customer service tells me that the hotel is allocated on arrival.

How likely am I to get a downtown hotel? If not very likely, I'd rather pay for one than stay at the airport hotel!

Hi,

You will get the hotel for sure as I got one too flying in J as there was no F on that sector.

They had offered to me Holiday Inn for J which I declined as I had made my own arrangement in Conrad in advance. However for F it has to be a better hotel for sure.

By the way there is no F between IST - MSQ. The sector is served by 737-800 and the J on this flight is pretty ordinary.

Was the Holiday Inn offered to you downtown or at the airport?

If I depart in J to Minsk, will I still be picked up by the car in Istanbul and taken to the airport and receive the F treatment?

The way I have seen it flying TK in paid J 2 times is that it all depends on what kind of Supervisior/Manager you get at the IST airport. If he or she is good and understanding then your rights will be honoured and you will be taken care off but if you get some one who is on a short fuse or just having a bad day then you can kiss goodbye to your rights. The pampering thing would be near planet Mars probably.
