I've posted this question yesterday on the South America forum but it's not very busy over there, so I will try you guys.
Travelling to/around Peru in Y on LAN. Can anyone confirm whether as OW Emeralds, my wife and I can access the LAN (third party I believe) lounge in LIM before a domestic flight to CUZ and the flight home to LHR via MAD.
On a separate note, how strict are LAN on cabin baggage weight?

It's been awhile since I've been in the domestic area of LIM, but if I recall correctly, there is no lounge in that area - only the international area.
Your flight to MAD and onto LHR is, I assume, a LAN flight? I would expect you can get into the lounge with a boarding card that says Emerald, but I am not positive - I've only ever flown J or F on an int'l flight from LIM.
Not sure about cabin baggage enforcement, but I know they can be quite strict about checked baggage allowances (probably 20kg on your flight), and although they give their own elites an extra allowance, they will not extend this to other oneworld Emeralds.

Flights are LIM->MAD = LP, MAD->LHR = IB.
But all OW

Domestic flights leave from a separate domestic area of the terminal and there is no lounge there of any sort.
On your international flight back to MAD you will be eligible for use of the international lounge.

I'm criss-crossing South America on LAN in September and have also been unable to get a definitive answer on the baggage allowance. There is some information here: http://www.lan.com/info_viajes/equipajes/equipajes_chequeado-en-us.html entitled Checked baggage (in the hold). Baggage Exemption beginning April 1 2009, but I'm not sure what it's an exemption from :rolleyes:, or what the allowance is for international flights within South America :confused:. I think I'll take a chance on 23KG and see what happens.

From my itinerary you get 2 x 23kg, seen this in checkmytrip.com

You don't get access to the Sumaq Lounge if you're traveling Y, despite being a OW Emerald. You're right, it's not a OW lounge !
LAN is very strict about luggage and collecting excess baggage (both carry on and checked) but you're ok with 2 bags at 23Kg each for checked and it's 8 kg for carry on in Y.
But since you're Emerald, and have Preferente boarding access, you'll be the first to board and most likely the gate agents won't bother with checking to see if you are have more than 8Kg as carry on.

Within South America you can have up to 2 bags with a combined total weight of 23kg. Not each !

I've read that some people have managed access but they have to get a voucher at check-in. Anyone have any further info on this???

Thanks f0zzyNUE , I am reading your message from the lounge now. Nice lounge, better than some of the european lounges I have visited.
Just some further info, we flew in from CUZ, we exited the domestics area into the international check-in area, approached the business check-in and asked for a voucher. Also they were able to take payment for the departure tax (saves queuing upstairs) all very efficient.
