Avis - Excess on a Suburban

I'm renting a Suburban in Las Vegas for a month. Does anyone know what the insurance excess on this would be?
I can purchase their LDW but at $22.00 a day it could add up to more than the excess.

The excess depends on the renting web site, among other things. If one rents from Avis U.S. without a rate plan that provides LDW, it's typical for one to owe Avis the entire value of the vehicle if destroyed. Plan on $45K for a Suburban.

If you own a car, I'd call your insurance agent and ask if they cover rentals. If not, I'd find out what it would cost to add it to your policy... I'm sure it'd be cheaper than through aVs for this long. there are also credit cards (I think AmEx) where you can add a rental car protection option. For a certain fee per rental, they insure your car. If you're interested in this ±can't find anything on your own, PM me and I'll see if I can find it... I know one of the recent cards that I opened has that option.

For the one that I was referring to, it's actually primary insurance. It's not a good deal for short rentals of a day or two (I think it was like $25-30 per rental) and it's automatically applied if you're enrolled in the program. However, for longer rentals, it's a great option. I think it was capped at $50k for the vehicle, which covers most in the rental fleets these days.
