Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Showers in first class lounge at IST?

I've tried to do a search and I see there is a sort of public/locker room type shower in the business class lounge at IST.

Does the first class lounge have a different section with their own showers?

Also, is it possible to have them give you a room at the transit hotel for first class award passengers BKK via IST to JFK? The layover is only 4 hours but it might be nice for a 1 hour nap and proper bath/shower.

there are two showers in the 1st class lounge - it s a large toilet with excellent facilities - nice toiletries too (branded - armani, lancome etc)


no hotel for you - sorry - we can t expect too much from TK who is already much above the F class standards


the main caveat on TK is that they don t speak much english
but you don t really need to the crew much - i know it s nice to have a chat but .....

the BKK plane might be a330 or a340 so there might be no F class on board - they ll downgarde and you have to claim miles back from your airline

I think I will not risk cancelling my LH first class seat from BKK at the moment even though the TK aircraft seems nicer than the LH aircraft.

Maybe if TK still has first class a week or two before departure I will change but I agree it is too early to release my LH seat with the possibility of a TK downgrade.

Yes, this is true, for the Business Class lounge at least. I am pretty sure they have real towels for the first class lounge though, possibly a bathrobe. Can anyone confirm?

i ve been 3 times to the F class showers and last week in the C class and received fresh nice smell thick towels -

the F class towels were really nice

the C ones were nice tooo

i ve never received any paper towels

I got one of the overglorified "paper" towels at the IST business lounge on Monday. Dreadful.

Proper towels at the lounge this morning.

When I flew in July there were refurbishing the 1st class lounge so I used the J one. When I asked for a shower kit I was given the Prime Class branded kit. I saw on the 1st class leaflet that they offer Hermes products so I asked if I could have one. After much confusion, many radio calls and a bit of a kerfuffel I thought my luck was out.

During mid shower I had a knock on the shower curtain and hey presto I was presented with a goodie bag pack with Hermes bits. I kept it ; it was worth the hassle!
