AirTran Airways A+ Rewards - Delayed flight, further Delayed for incoming passengers?

Hi,

So I must admit I never fly airtran. I am sitting in BWI dealing with an unusual situation.
Our flight was delayed for crew due to weather. While waiting for the pilots the cabin crew timed out. Okay.....dispatch did not know this? I find that hard to believe.
No Problem, we have found pilots and crew. Now we are delayed another 1.5hrs due to us waiting for passengers coming in off a flight from ROC.
In all my years of flying I have never had a flight wait for me.
To delay a flight to arrive 4 hours later for passengers?

Something does not smell right here or I am crazy?

This area is highly susceptible to t-storms during the summer. What may look like an opening window an hour from now can easily turn into 3 hours after the first hour has passed. It's possible that the crew wouldn't have timed out if say that window did open at 1 hour. Most likely some of the arriving passengers arriving late could have been non-revving for the following am's flight out of ROC. I've been on DL before where we had to divert to HSV due to t-storms/ground holds at ATL & low fuel, file new paperwork, then get back in the air. I knew I was safe since the crew on my SEA-(HSV)-ATL flight was servicing my leg ATL-BWI. Otherwise I would have been on the ground wondering the same thing you were wondering.

Advise me of future FL delays & I'll meet you at Terminal D's Greene Turtle, I have a lifetime mug there.
