Midwest Airlines Midwest Miles - Companion ticket for just 10,000 milesView Full Version : Companion ticket for just 10,000 miles newsmanhoss Aug 18, 09, 7:11 am Very good deal for travel between 9/9 and 10/14. http://www.midwestairlines.com/MilesOffers/Travel/CompanionTicket.aspx mke9499 Aug 18, 09, 9:07 am Very good deal for travel between 9/9 and 10/14. http://www.midwestairlines.com/MilesOffers/Travel/CompanionTicket.aspx I am surprised that LAX is not excluded, considering that all of the other exclusions are long haul flights. Are they looking for more bookings on the MKE-LAX nonstops, as there appears to be good availabilty for the upcoming months, including for award travel, to/from LAX? newsmanhoss Aug 18, 09, 10:11 am I am surprised that LAX is not excluded, considering that all of the other exclusions are long haul flights. Are they looking for more bookings on the MKE-LAX nonstops, as there appears to be good availabilty for the upcoming months, including for award travel, to/from LAX? Maybe they are trying to take away some customers from AirTran during that time. 10,000 miles for a companion pass, particularly on the LAX route, is an especially good value per mile. Plus, remember that the paid ticket is already earning 3,510 miles, so the companion pass really only costs 6,490 miles. It's almost like a buy one get one free special. mke9499 Aug 18, 09, 10:50 am Maybe they are trying to take away some customers from AirTran during that time. 10,000 miles for a companion pass, particularly on the LAX route, is an especially good value per mile. Don't forget the Brewers 'Two for Won' Promotion. If the flights are on days when the Brewers are playing and win, the miles are doubled, earning 7,020 miles. Oh, I forgot to mention that the stars must aligned properly. :) It is a pretty fair deal, under any condition. newsmanhoss Aug 18, 09, 2:56 pm I am surprised that LAX is not excluded, considering that all of the other exclusions are long haul flights. A little OT, but, interestingly enough, YX's MKE-LAX flights are not showing up on travelocity. I checked a couple other routes, too. MKE-BOS does not show up, but MKE-LGA does. Weird. Frontier showed up on MKE-LAX, though. ;) al613 Aug 18, 09, 3:20 pm Can you first book your first ticket through any website? mke9499 Aug 18, 09, 3:41 pm A little OT, but, interestingly enough, YX's MKE-LAX flights are not showing up on travelocity. But the r/t price is $342, which is much higher than the fares on midwestairlines.com 8C4IOW Aug 18, 09, 4:50 pm Can you first book your first ticket through any website? I don't think it matters where the member purchases their ticket at as long as their is a frequent flier seat available. I would call to make sure the seat is available and hold it while you purchase your ticket. From their website: 1 Companion awards are nontransferable and must be used in conjunction with the member's paid ticket. Companion award travel seats are limited; check availability prior to booking paid ticket. Companion award travel must be booked directly with Midwest Airlines via phone. Limit one free companion award ticket per member per trip. http://www.midwestairlines.com/MidwestMiles/UseMiles/RedeemMiles.aspx |
