MilesBuzz! - 3 hour layover at JFK - anything to do?

With all the travels I do, it just dawned on me that I have not been through JFK in over 15 years. Next month, I will be flying UA with a change of planes there and was wondering if there was anything interesting at the airport other than people/plane-watching?
Catman...feel like driving out for a visit?
Not really anything - just the (usual) UA Red Carpet. Sometimes, even if you change only within UA, you need those 3 hours just to be on time at JFK ...

You might want to check out the new Terminal 1 - it's really quite nice. LH, Korean, AF, VS and SQ and some others have their JFK operations there. Have a good trip ...

I agree with leroy11 about checking out Terminal 1.
A note on the RCC at JFK --when I was there in February it was quite dowdy looking and frayed around the edges. Defintely needs to undergo a major renovation.

OK, Arturo, after six months of your antics, you FINALLY made me smile... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The whole JFK needs a renovation! And it is in some places right now. I AM SO DREADING going here next thursday for Vegas!
Mileage Addict, let me know when you are out at JFK and if I'm off work in time or in the area I can make it out there. I'm always up for seeing a good friend (even if it's n JFK.) E-Mail forthcoming.
Arturo: Your posting was worth a chuckle but watch out for the NYC COPS! They are on a war for improving the "quality of life." http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Stop by the TWA terminal for a good view of Saarinen architecture--actually, kind of fun to walk all around JFK to see some of the architecture.

The architectural style at JFK can most graciously be described as "early Chaotic".
