National - What do I have to book to get what?

I am going to MCO with family in october. I the Executive level at National and hence, I am entitled to pick a car and pay one category bellow. I however have had some problem recently to understand what I do have to book on the website in order to get what.

So, if I select a standard SUV on the national website, will I get the standard SUV and end up paying the price of a midsize SUV? Or is it the other way around and I will end up paying for the standard SUV and get an upgrade to a premium SUV?

as an executive elite, I made friends with all the agents who would usually just give any car on the lot with my midsize ressie....

That may not work Highly YMMV....but I didn't require a suv so I would book midsize and ask for other cars at the booth.

7.Emerald Club Executive and Emerald Club Executive Elite Members will be charged the rate for the next lower car class when renting a full-size through luxury vehicle (excluding specialty vehicles) from National Car Rental.
