So I think you do get lounge access if you were opup at check in counter. mleung89 Aug 18, 09, 4:01 am Not necessary for op up. As a MPC green member, around Xmas 08, I got upgraded to J on SYD-HKG on CX and also PEK to HKG on KA, both at the check-in counter. I did not get lounge invitation at all, and I have also asked the check-in agent, s/he said no. However, during my transit at HKG on SYD-HKG-PEK, I went to agent at the counter of the CX Wing lounge , I said I traveled on J (actually an op-up only) from SYD-HKG, but will be traveling on Y to PEK, he swiped my Y boarding pass to PEK I received in SYD, (don't know what did he see on the screen though, it might be only s/he was being generous), then s/he welcomed me to the lounge. kevkmkwok Aug 18, 09, 4:46 am ot upgraded to J on SYD-HKG on CX and also PEK to HKG on KA, both at the check-in counter. I did not get lounge invitation at all I got an op-up to J at check in when I once flew HKG - PEK on KA metal. The agent did print me a lounge pass though. (I was still GR at that time!) kaka Aug 18, 09, 6:39 am I got an op-up to J at check in when I once flew HKG - PEK on KA metal. The agent did print me a lounge pass though. (I was still GR at that time!) mmmh, i thought i was speaking on my experience. now thinking back i can't remember when that happened, but i still believe they dont have to grant you lounge access. cxfan1960 Aug 18, 09, 11:22 am Years ago, I was also told that op-up could not get lounge access by COS. I doubt if that policy has been changed. Perhaps special occasions - birthday, 500K miles mark, 5-year anniversary - can be different. mmaddog Aug 18, 09, 9:19 pm Some years ago, I got op-up to J on a HKG-LAX flight. The agent did not print me an invitation. I thought he forgot so I went to the J lounge and was told that there is no lounge access for op-up. |
