InterContinental Hotels Group Stay Forum - HIX Birmingham City Centre

This was a really good hotel. Located about 5 minutes walk from the town hall and handy for buses to Edgbaston for the cricket. Room was huge and (unusually) offered quite a wide range of tv channels. Best HIX breakfast so far which included bagels and a wider range of pastries than usually offered. I'd stay there again.

I've stayed here myself when visiting NEC events, oddly enough - it was always easier to walk from the HIX to New Street station and do the short train hop to the NEC than mess around with shuttle buses from the hotels nearer the site, especially as I would be coming up from London the night before and could hop off at New Street.

Agreed that it is a good, modern HIX, very much as you'd expect if you've stayed in a UK one before.

Has anybody been here recently?

I am here next weekend and just need a cheap place for a stag do. The clincher was the free breakfast and quick access to broad street cMy first stay ever in an express. I assume their are no elite privileges?

This hotel is fine. Modern rooms, good shower, clean and a good breakfast. No elite privileges.

Best avoided at the weekend though - because of the cheap rates it tends to attract groups of lairy drunkards on stag do's.
