Hi guys- sorry if this can be found elsewhere.

What sort of food can we expect on Korean?

Will be flying from Sydney to Incheon, then onto Frankfurt next month.

Have previously flown the route on JAL, with a Western and Japanese meals on offer.

Not sure on the Australia-Korea routes, but on North America-Korea, we get fed pretty well. There's almost always a western option for the main meals, but the bi-bim-bap (veggies and meat on rice) is recommended. You'll probably get hot soup at least once, either with a meal, or ramen as a snack. That always struck me as odd.

They'll have coffee and hot green or black ("English") tea available.

I took KE for the first time to the Philippines from JFK via ICN. The Bibimbap was ok, not too spicy. The soup that comes with (seaweed soap) was good too. I thought the non-korean meals could have been better though.

@Finite Elephant... I didn't know they had ramen noodles for snacks! :( Wish I knew so I could've asked!

I think the bibimbap is decent. The western courses could be improved.

I might be mistaken but I believe ramyun (how they say it in Korean) is only for business and first class passengers.

I've gotten it in coach. Not on every flight, mind you, and it's not something you ask for, they just come through and hand it out to whoever wants it. I prefer it to the weird pizza bread thing they sometimes have.

And you're right about ramyun v. ramen. I deliberately used the latter as it's more common among westerners.

The ramen cup noodles aren't available for everyone so besure to ask them right after the meal!
