Just wanted to see if this has the new business class seating. If so, what is the seating configuration and are there any preferred seats (2 of us traveling together in December).
Thanks.
Thanks.

If so, what is the seating configuration and are there any preferred seats (2 of us traveling together in December). Thanks. Just one a/c- the old 747 combi - has old business class seating. All others are new seats. I don't rate any place as positively better than others. The least preferred is the back of the right hand aisle ( right when facing forwards) as that usually gets served food last. jh6000 Aug 13, 09, 7:38 pm Thanks -- greatly appreciate the information. John H stargold Aug 13, 09, 8:01 pm The aircraft will be the B777-200ER (2-class). Roughly half of them have AVOD while the other half only has looped-tape PTV. If two people travelling together, then just about all the pairs of seats are identical in terms of comfort. Obviously the middle 3 won't be as desirable. Seats towards the front will have a better chance at their choice of food. Bulkheads have the advantage of easier access to the aisle for the window-seat passenger, but they lose the convenient storage spaces. Basically, I would just choose any window-side pair towards the front... :) jh6000 Aug 13, 09, 10:34 pm Thanks, stargold. fly747first Aug 14, 09, 1:48 am Thanks, stargold. Even if you get an old plane, the lovely Asiana crews will make up for it, I promise. ethelman Aug 14, 09, 3:12 am Even if you get an old plane, the lovely Asiana crews will make up for it, I promise. If by "old plane" you mean the combi, it will be an experience you won't forget. But the chance of 747 swap for 772 is remote. If you mean non-AVOD (ie personal tv- big!- but you can only choose from looping films, from games and audio, as opposed to being Video-on-demand where you can start the film when you want to) the non-AVOD planes have newer seats than many of the AVOD ones. That's because they used to have cradle seats, which were later replaced by lie-flat-and slide-gently-to-the floor seats. canddmeyer Aug 14, 09, 4:38 pm I flew OZ213 in coach back in April. The 777 has all the latest greatest amenities, including AVOD in all seats. When I peeked into biz class everyone looked happy. Seating configuraton I believe is 2-3-2. The FA service is the best I've ever experienced. I'll admit the AVOD was malfunctioning leaving SFO for most of the flight, but flying the same plane back from ICN the AVOD was flawless. Still, I'd highly recommend Asiana. The worst thing about the flight was that it was entirely in daylight. jaguar Aug 17, 09, 4:55 pm Look forward to my flight next week in business class. inlandrev Aug 23, 09, 8:18 pm Anyone ever get chance to upgrade for cash out of SFO from Y to C, if yes how much is it?
