WestJet "Passenger Perks" - Where do 737-600s operate?

Searched the forum, but if it is here, I didn't dig enough, and for that I apologize....

Which routes does WestJet use its 737-600 fleet? A friend and I want to complete our set of 737 variants, and we're both missing a -600. Granted flying somewhere on SAS, Malev or Tunisair may be more exotic than WestJet, but it is also lots more expensive.

Is there someplace that indicates which variant of the 737 WestJet uses on its routes? A segmented set of flight numbers perhaps?

I know they operate between YEG and YYC. You can also always check this website to see where the 600s are currently flying.

Vancouver - Edmonton
Kamloops - Calgary
Victoria - Toronto
Toronto - Ottawa
Abbotsford - Calgary
Winnipeg - Edmonton
Yellowknife - Edmonton
Montreal - Winnipeg

They are moved around the fleet depending on loads and aircraft positioning requirements, and are often (but not always) found on very short flights, such as YYC-YEG. But it is difficult to tell in advance what plane you will be on (no flight number subset or anything like that). Websites such as Flightaware will tell you what plane operated a particular flight for the last few months, which is a good indication of what plane might operate the route tomorrow, but there are often schedule changes (and not just when seasonal changes are made to the timetable).

You should also be able to travel this summer on a -600 between Toronto and either of Westjet's Saskatchewan destinations.

The -600 shows up in YQR quite a bit. I don't know if you want to fly to YQR just to get on a -600, though! Not much to see here...

Although I haven't personally been there, I've heard the RCMP Training Depot/Museum is quite interesting to see in YQR. And in YXE, the river valley is sooo beautiful, though maybe not enticing enough to get you on a -600!

In July we were operating the -600 for flight 474 YYZ-YHZ via YUL... I think its 474 anyway...

I cant remember, but prettymuch EVERY time I worked that route in July it was a -600...

I think a 116 seat jet is about right for this route. Air Can uses a 120 jet so I don't see the difference. The only thing that matters on a flight to Las Vegas is "how much does it cost"! I'd want to have the lowest cost aircraft I could get on the route because you KNOW the fares are going to be rock bottom!

The fact that they are using 600s on this route when they used to use 700s illustrates that you really can't tell in advance what type of aircraft you will get. They are flying 600s today; perhaps traffic will pick up as we approach winter and they will switch back to 700s.

the amount of times i've flown this route it has always been on an -800. I used to use it as a backup in case YHZ was full or in case i rrived in YYC after a pairing after the YHZ red eye departed. and could count on the extra FA jumpseats and flight deck jumpseats on board an -800 and of course being added on as a 5th FA to get all sby's on...

The load was pretty good. 109 on the way down and 113 on the way back (or pretty darn close to those numbers).

I notice the toronto crowds don't drink as much as the edmonton and calgary crowds. Drink sales were WAY DOWN.

Believe they are being used on the YMM-YYZ run as well. I have flown one between YMM and YEG about two years ago.

They run YYC-YQQ as well quite often.
