Looking to do a turn around in TPE or KHH. Done TPE a few times but never done KHH. Is it just as easy to do it at KHH?

Stick with TPE, KHH is second-class airport that pretends to be first-class international airport, and KHH is a boring city compared to TPE.

The city, and the size of the airport, don't matter, the question is a specific one - how easy is it to do a same plane turnround?

Correct me if I am wrong but last time when I go there, I don't aware of any international transit area ... also cost wise should be same and roughly use same amount of time, stick with TPE ....

TPE: frequent flight between TPE and HKG. You can minimize the transit time.

KHH: If you would like to do a short trip to the city (for shopping, eating), KHH is just 20 mins. by subway to the city. TPE to city is a 1 hr trip.

If you would like to spend few hours wondering in the city and not in a hurry, KHH may not be a bad choice. If your purpose is just to make a very quick turn around, choose TPE.

Is there a more specific way, other than just lining up the schedules and aircraft types, of knowing what outbound aircraft (say HKG-TPE) is used on the return leg (TPE-HKG)? What is the minimum amt of time needed from landing to departure to transit and do a turnaround? And finally, I'm assuming it's likely advisable to fly over on the aircraft you're going back on if possible to eliminate the chance that the outbound flight is delayed, and you miss the inbound connection (I'm booked on the last CX flight to HKG of the night, 8:20pm or something)?

In Kaoshuing, the new Subway link to airport is open, you can take it Central Park Station, and visit street markets , park, love riverside (but these days after the Typhoon is not good). its about 10 min Central Park Station, there is nothing at Central Train Station, other northern station, is the arena area, nice new mall/department store. Also for shopping San-Do is near Airport on Subway, less than 10 min subway ride.

Airport itself is small, although it looks nice inside after they fixed it up for the world games. (International terminal looks nice and neat inside, small but nice with a few shops and eats, also small Dragon Air lounge but not so nice), Domestic terminal is not good at all.

What is the minimum amt of time needed from landing to departure to transit and do a turnaround? You will always be able to do a same plane turnround. Last time I did one (with no bags obviously) I was actually able to go to the gate of the one hour previous flight at T-10 and get on that immediately (just by showing my BP for the next flight and asking if I could go earlier; it helped that I was a Diamond at the time). I was only on the ground in TPE for about 20-25 minutes.

Does anybody know which outbound flight# does the HKG-TPE leg of CX's last TPE-HKG evening departure (CX470 at 20:20)?

CX470 this Thursday (Aug 20) is showing 777, but the closest relevant 777 HKG-TPE flight (after making a dummy booking) is CX510, which arrives TPE at 16:35. Seems like a long time to sit on the ground.

The flight that seems to make most sense would be CX470 (arrives TPE at 19:25), but it is showing 330 for equipment on August 20. Is there a better way of figuring this out?

That flight (CX470) may be a continuation from one that originates from JP or SK.

Edit: That flight is actually CX531 according to my timetable, which means it comes from Nagoya...

Some error here: CX470 flies HKG to TPE dep 17:45. Even numbers are HKG-TPE, odd numbers are TPE-HKG.

The last flight from TPE to HKG is CX531 at 20:20, which is a 777 and is indeed a continuation from Japan (Nagoya).

Expertflyer (http://www.expertflyer.com) is a good tool for looking at stuff like this. You can also download a copy of the CX interactive timetable here: http://downloads.cathaypacific.com/cx/timetable/9570_setup.exe

The last 4 planes to fly to TPE all overnight there: CX470, CX402, CX468, CX408, which are 330, 330, 773, 773 respectively on 20 August.

other locations in SE Asia such as JapanThat's a rather "unusual" definition of "SE Asia" you have there!

Perhaps that was a typo - "NE Asia" or "E Asia" instead.
