Living here (PNH) is making trip planning a bit more complicated (miles rich, $$ poor). Me and the eventual Mrs are getting out of town for a long weekend and were able to schedule 2 business seats on the A320 (blech). Figured for 10k more a C award was better than overnight in Y.

Anyway, should we be trying to route through BKK on another airline? Is this a tolerable (I realize that might be a stretch) flight?

There are only 2 *A airlines serving PNH: TG to BKK and OZ to ICN.

Anyway, feedback would be appreciated.

I am not sure what the question is. The A320 business class doesn't have lie flat seats so it will still be a short night. But of course it is better to have 42" seat pitch than 33".

Shanghai Airlines also flies to PNH.

Much better to be in C than Y. Suppose my question was is this a reasonable plane to spend 5 hours on (overnight) or should we be looking to spend a few more hours in transit going through BKK?

Hadn't even thought about them. If I need to head to PVG they're an option.

I would go direct. Yes, the flight schedule isn't great and it would be nice to have better seats. But OZ will still make this a good flight with good service.
