SkyTeam - MAD T1 Cibeles lounge- neither internet nor food!

What a sorry excuse for an intercontinental hub lounge. I know it doesn't belong to UX, but they should have a bit of leverage over AENA (between them, AM, and DL, Skyteam serves 18 international destinations from T1).

Olives, cheese-crackers and that's it...only paid wi-fi, plus 2 PCs available in a lounge designated for a huge number of long-haul pax, which means people will keep looking over your shoulder and occasionally even pester you to leave the PC to them (and you can't really blame them, either)... There's no shower, either, which I imagine must be great for people on connections!

Admittedly, the chairs are comfy and the wine's decent, but come on... :td:

Is this lounge available for arrivals, and if not, is there any arrival lounge I can use at MAD? (sky team E+, DL sky club membership).

Madrid must be the only Skyteam hub without a Skyteam lounge. No arrivals access for anyone.

Even little Pisa, Italy's 11th largest airport, has a lounge. MAD is the world's 12th busiest airport, and most of the Skyteam airlines fly there. Skyteam should be embarrassed.

To be fair, it's not as easy as it sounds: UX have only recently become a "grown-up" airline, and Skyteam operations in MAD are spread across 3 terminals. But they should at least work out an agreement with AENA for free internet in their lounges (and maybe a shower in T1).

Turns out DL does have an agreement to provide access to the Cibeles lounge for B/E pax, and thanks to a very nice GA I was able to get access (since I am both PM and a SkyClub member, although I was flying in Y he made an exception).

Wifi isn't free, but it is a nice lounge, we were able to relax and have a snack before the flight.
