Based on CX's web, there are 8 aircrafts with regional business class seats, does anyone know which are these aircrafts? All in 773 or 772?

Thanks!

It's certainly on some A330s unfortunately :( (I was on one a couple of days ago)

I'm not sure why you're asking - but they've stopped rolling out the new seats because of negative passenger feedback (the old regional biz seats are SO much more comfortable).

I haven't been able to work out if there is any pattern on which flights get the new/old seats. I fear there is no system - just take what turns up (although I was dreading my red-eye HKG-ICN last month for fear a new biz seat would be on it thankfully it wasn't!)

oh, you mean the "old regional biz seats" are so much more comfortable? I guess you are talking about the cradle seat. Well, i do agree to a certain extent that the seat is a bit softer the the NBC (lie-flat not the fully 180 degree flat) or the Regional Biz Class, but apart from that, all those hardware are quite old, including the Personal TV. I don't think it's good to take the "old biz seats". Among the seats available in CX fleet, i prefer the NBC the most for regional haul and if you are travelling with companion. It seems quite strange to sit in the "fish-bone" new biz class seat when u are travelling with fds/family though you can have a better sleep with the fully flat seats.

Hi cxlover - I'm a bit confused? The new regional seats are the same configuration as the old ones - just they are hard and uncomfortable (ok, the entertainment ssytem is a fractioanlly better).

The new regional seats are not lie flat (or even angled) - but maybe I have misunderstood you?

The angled lie flats/fishbone are only on the long haul fleet, and sometimes if you get a three class aircraft operating regional (whether as a substitute or scheduled). So my flight last week HKG-BKK had a 77A scheduled and we had the fishbones, but all other flights to BKK were by regular A330s or 773s, both with regional biz class, just some had new hard seats and some old cradle seats.

apologies if i am talking at cross purposes :)

It's so funny thinking about it - because due to negative feedback, they stopped rolling out New Regional J, but they didn't stop rolling out the New herringbone J. The feedback for the herringbone J was way worse than the ones for the new regional business.

I have flown both the old business and the new regional business (Both 45" pitch), and the old business is much more comfortable than the new one. The seats looks much larger, feels much softer, despite some noticeable wear and tear and poor in-flight entertainment system.

FYI there are 5 777-300s (non -ER) with the new regional business seats: B-HNM to B-HNQ.

There are also 4 A330s with them installed: B-HLU, B-HLV, B-LAA and B-LAB.

They randomly fly short-haul routes so you can't tell if your plane will have new seats until you see the registration/get on board.

Just to be clear there are also another 7 777-300 (non-ER) and 16 A330s with the old Regional Business seat, which is the one the customers prefer, but which, strangely, isn't mentioned on the website at all.

I believe all the 777-200s are retired now aren't they?

To the best of my knowledge (SPOTTERS (http://antonakis.ca/acars.php?page=request)!) they are still flying. No one wants to buy them so I guess CX has no choice but to keep flying them...

Well, i am asking about the new regional biz class is because it looks newer and you can adjust the seats electronically (like the NBC or the fishbones) with better IFE. I have experienced the new regional biz class once in 773 and i am not sure whether it has been installed in 772 or 330. My next trip would be from HKG to SIN, 330 for the outbound and 74A for inbound. It would be good if the 330 to be deployed is with the new regional biz class. You are right that the seat is more comfortable for the old cradle seats and look bigger in size.

Sorry my bad! When you talked about being able to sit next to your friends (unlike fishbone) I thought you were asking about the angled lie flats!

Anyways in answer to your question there is no way of knowing which seating (old or new) you'll get. Electric seats and larger PTV are all it will mean.
