AirTran Airways A+ Rewards - Question about Elite status.

Do you have to "fly" to get the points or can you apply for a Airtran credit card and combine them to achieve Elite status?

Only credits earned from paid tickets count toward elite status. All other credits are considered "bonus" credits and do not count for elite purposes.
