Amtrak Guest Rewards - Does Amtrak Catch Duplicate Bookings on Revenue or Award Tickets?

I am planning to go from NYP to MTR but not sure which day. If I make bookings on 2 consecutive days, would they catch it and cancel them? (Some airlines have "dup suspect" bots running on their system.) Does it matter whether they are revenue or AGR trips?

Thanks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Another thought: You can confirm this for yourself. Book revenue tickets and reward tickets for some consecutive days in, say, September. See if anything happens, and then cancel the tickets (reward and revenue) with no penalty.

Ordinarily I would tell you that Amtrak would not notice or care about two reservations like you're suggesting.

However, in this case you must provide customs information that is forwarded on to Canada's CBSA (their equivalent of our border patrol). I'm not sure at what point that info is sent to Canada, be it at the time of booking or the morning the train leaves or some other time. But if it is sent at any point earlier than the morning of departure, it could set off some alarm bell with CBSA.
