Las Vegas - Vegas week quick impressions

LAS x 7 nights
Just some shallow cursory impressions.

1. Planet Hollywood. Not impressive 4/10. Stay again? No
2. Wynn - Nice, classy 8/10. Stay Again? Yes
3. MGM Signature tower - OK 7/10. Stay again? Maybe if rate was right
4. Palazzo - Overrated - don't get it 6/10. Stay again? No

Alamo Car rental: Compact $152 per week inc taxes plus triple AA miles :D

I think I'd give Wynn 9/10 myself, but you're quite correct re Planet Ho. A very disappointing renovation overall.

It's not for everybody, but there are things to like about PH:
--No long walks, unless you self park
--Room service from PF Chang's
--Halfway decent shopping mall and buffet
--Views of Bellagio fountain
--Short cab ride to LAS
--Near Aria, Bellagio, Paris

Add: some of the tightest slots in Vegas.

PH is also great for those with Elite status with SPG -- as a Platinum SPG member I get to use the VIP check-in counter which usually shaves off several minutes of waiting time as well as using the VIP line at the buffet by showing my card.... these are 2 big reasons for me why I like the PH.

I was very disappointed with Wynn Tower Suites -- enough to not want to return. Love eating and playing at Wynn but not to stay. I actually like Signature at MGM Grand a lot -- especially when booking through Virtuoso. See the Luxury Hotels forum regarding Virtuoso Travel Agents who can get extra bennies at Virtuoso properties -- in LAS, Bellagio, Wynn, Signature/SkyLofts @ MGM Grand, and the Four Seasons are all Virtuoso properties and come with extras like discounted rates, breakfast, upgrades, etc.

And this is the reason why I don't like playing at the PH!!

One other nice think about P-Ho are the ABC stores in the mall, one of which is about 50 feet away from the casino. This makes it cheap and easy to grab a soda, beer, snack, etc without very large markups. Much nicer than going to the "Vegas Memories" stores in other casinos that charge $3.99 for 20oz of diet coke.

+ they have Peepshow in-house, which a group of 12 of us really loved (caveat: 1st time to Vegas, 1st show) and if you're under 25 and just love to 'smash the disco', Prive is in-house too and pretty cool. And they're cocktail waitresses around the slots are pretty hot... ;)

Party's over for Prive for the time being. P-Ho got fined $500k for some nasty stuff going on over there including assaults by guards, prostitution and underage drinking. Prive lost its liquor license. It's on appeal.

Wow - the week after we were there. I hated the place, and the door staff were the usual bast@$s, but didn't see any of this (of course)...

What didn't you like about Pallazzo? Personally, I like it just as much as the Wynn.
