Just got off 888. I was upgraded to F at the gate. The check-in staff said happy 14th anniversary when she passed me the new BP. It was surely a pleasant surprise.

Another surprise is my membership year has been reset yesterday. I have racked up 65k miles so far and I surely will not be able to make it to diamond before the end of the month. My new membership year lasts from Aug 4 09 to Aug 31 10. This gives me a pretty good head start for the next renewal.

Thanks MPC.

I'm confused, how is this different than normal? When you get reset in the middle of the month, you always get 12 months + whatever is left in the month you're currently in. So if you're lucky enough to get reset on, say the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc of a month, then you basically get 13.

I've found that if you've reached the amount to renew your current status you will get reset early in that month like chentaiman has found. If you haven't reached your 60,000 miles (eg for Gold) then you won't get reset until the end of the month to give you a chance to reach it.

I always thought they only give upgrade for every 5th year. 5th, 10th, 15th anniversary, etc. Very nice indeed.

cx right now seem to be monitoring gold + card holders and giving the royal teatment and this is no bad thing, they seem to appreciate the business
