Newsstand - Bill Clinton's Plane To North Korea

Does anybody know what airplane Bill Clinton took to and from North Korea today?
The New York Times, Washington Post and AP currently refer to the plane only as "private."
My guess -- and it's only a guess -- is that it's billionaire Ron Burkle's 767, a plane Clinton has used in the past.

This is BBJ where it came from. This is restricted flight for former president Clinton. The flight tracking does not to be existed. I am already heard 2 journalists are freed from prisons in North Korean. It is reg. number is N1212. The entire flight will flying stop in ANC to get refuel the plane and ongoing will continuation the flight to North Korean for private meeting with North Korean president is approval to be releasable from the prisons.
I knows Air Koryo are banned flying to EU & USA, am I correct? Because it wasn't improvable the safety performance.

I only saw pics of people boarding the plane (I couldn't tell the model)... didn't have any markings on it.
I wonder if it could be one of those "white" 767's from IAD?

Just a random question, does Bill Clinton have a diplomatic passport? He still has secret service I suppose?
Bill Clinton has lifetime secret service as do all living exPresidents.

Bill Clinton is the last President to have Secret Service for life. Beginning with George W Bush the Secret Service is only for 10 years and does not include the former President's children unless they are under 18.
Obama and all future Presidents will have to factor in security after that 10 year period into financial planning. (unless the law is changed).
Several former Presidents including Nixon have given up their Secret Service protection after a few years saying that it is too much of a burden to the American people.

I would imagine that Clinton needs no more than 2 agents when in US. I assume he had a larger team in North Korea.

My guess is that he does have diplomatic status.

Thanks for posting this... I thought this was a lifetime benefit.
Clinton, in addition to the secret service protection for life also has White House interns for life.
Something he fought vigorously for.

I would think that it would be the opposite. What do you think could happen to him in North Korea that the Secret Service could defend against? How many "lone gunman" do you suppose there are in North Korea that have access to guns and aren't operating in an official government capacity?

No, no, no, it's not Bill that's at risk, it's the laydeez of North Korea that are in danger of some sweet, sweet Arkansas smoothtalkin'!
Several former Presidents including Nixon have given up their Secret Service protection after a few years saying that it is too much of a burden to the American people.Actually, Nixon made the request after he died and is now reconsidering it, seeing that Frank Langella's portrayal of him was so well received.
BTW, to get back on topic. The plane that Clinton used to get to North Korea was a 737 owned by his his friend Steve. Bet it had a nice set of flight attendants.

Actually, you would be surprised at how many agents President Clinton has protecting him wherever he goes. As I understand it there are usually between 6-10 deployed around him, the majority of these are around the periphery and during actual events (speeches, travel, etc) this number increases. There is still the usual advance planning and use of armored vehicles, as well as cooperation with local law enforcement. We spend a lot of money and effort protecting former presidents, particularly when they are at planned events or overseas.

If he went on a diet, he would need a couple less.

Seems like a silly comment in the context of this discussion. It's reported the former president has been on a strict diet since his heart surgery a few years ago. But then again, you weren't actually seeking that information, just making a flippant comment.

I saw Jimmy Carter on a flight a few years ago and he had 6-10 with him. There were at least 3 in FC (on duty) and I'm sure another 5 or so in Y (off duty). FWIW, I think they should get some level of security. AFter all the reason they are at significant risk is the service they have provided to the country. Whether they need 10 agents and armoured vehicles, I'm not sure.

Why do you say so ? I follow assiduously the health status of my favourite President. Can't wait to collect his very own golden dollar.
