We are flying from FRA to IST and then onwards to JNB on TK in October in Biz class.

Looking for advice as to best seats in Biz class, what to expect on board, lounge info both in FRA and IST, meals, etc.

If someone has flown this route with connection in IST, please shed some light.

Thank you

Sorry, no expirience.

Why did you not take the direct SA or LH flight from FRA? At least SA is by far superior to TK and offers a really nice C product.

The lounge in Frankfurt should be the Star Alliance, actually run by Lufthansa. I am sure you will find it comfortable offering what you might wish. If you have a STAR GOLD card there is even a better lounge, offering far mor to eat.

The TK service obviously differ in quality quite a lot. On the short leg from Frankfurt to Istanbul, you shouldn't expect too much, but that I guess goes for all airline companies. On the longhaul leg, as far as I can see, TK are using Airbus A330, which is a nice aircraft. The seats are lie-flat, however, not horizontal. Especially for taller people (like me) it is difficult to find a good sleeping position. But once again, that goes for all companies.

The food is very good, as long as the cabin crew can work together and co-operate. I have flewn TYO-IST when the situation in C-cl cabin was amazingly unprofessional (see my posting).

I wish you good luck and a pleasant journey
