AirTran Airways A+ Rewards - FL Elite Security Lane at MKE?

The security lanes at MKE Terminal C have always struck me as a bit strange. There are two casual traveler lanes to the left that combine into one before reaching the TSA checkpoint, plus a rarely used families-with-liquids lane to the right (most often used by airport employees and crew since they can walk right up to the checkpoint). There is no expert traveler lane.

This morning I saw an Airtran Elite sign for the lane to the right, although it looked temporary. Has this always been there, and I missed it? Is it a temporary reaction to the recent rash of computer problems and weather delays? Or is it hopefully a permanent addition to reduce the time spent waiting in line?

I'm not flying FL again until next week. I'll see what I can find out then.

I flew into MKE the other day and there is now a small sign indicating that an elite security line on Concourse C does indeed exist.

The line is on the far right as you enter the queue for security. Sign says something to the effect of "crew, employees and AirTran Elite."

Considering how many inexperienced travelers there are out of MKE (I always manage to get stuck behind the family who hasn't flown in years :) ) this might be a big time saver!

I used the elite lane this morning and walked right up to the TSA agent. The lines weren't too bad this morning (much better than last week), but every little bit helps. We'll have to see how strictly they enforce the elite status requirement.
