Travel Technology - Was on Today (audience) - Easy way to record video to PC from DVR?

Greetings -

I was in the audience on The Today Show on Wed 7/29 - I did find a short clip online:

30 Sec Clip of The Today Show (http://www.hulu.com/watch/86046/nbc-today-show-happy-birthday-lenny)

I am to the left - 5"10, short hair, and in the blue A&F t-shirt that says "A&F - 27 - New York" and have a camera in my hand. Not sure how long this clip will stay on Hulu.

My question: I have the entire show on DVR. Is there a quick and dirty way to copy it to a movie file on the PC? Or at least copy specific clips of the show?

I'm on camera a couple times during the 7:00am hour, but at 8:00am, they started doing the news and wx in front of me before they started the "Happy Birthday" to Lenny (a retired Vietnam Vet, had been going to the show for 17 years, rarely missing a day).

This was the first time I had been to a show like this - I loved it, except being at Rockefeller Plaza at 4:30am :D - queue time went by fast, was next to some friendly people and we had some good discussions.

Thanks,

At my old place we use to go down once a year for an event. It was amazing how many people would call after or see you later and say "hey, I saw you on the today show"

OMG, my cell phone was ringing non-stop right after the segment at 8:00am.

I ended up turning it off as it got too annoying. Must have had a half-dozen messages, "Steve, was that you on TV on the Today Show?"

It was fun and I had a great time. I would love to do it again when in NYC next - would be nice to do on a concert day as well (if the concert is good).

I've used the Pinnacle Video Transfer Device (http://www.buy.com/prod/pinnacle-video-transfer-device-factory-refurbished-pinnacle-video/q/loc/111/207925434.html) to transfer well over a hundred hours of old VHS recordings to a hard drive. It uses the standard red-white-yellow RCA cables (also has an S-video input), so it can easily be hooked up to DVR outputs as well. It's not a free solution, but at 52 bucks I've really received way more than my money's worth on this device.

Is it a Tivo or just the basic cable company DVR. I know that Tivo has software you can download to your PC and it can remotely copy files to your computer.

If you have a ReplayTV, there's DVArchive (http://www.dvarchive.org/). It's free, and downloads shows via your home network just like the TiVo software.

Make life easier - grab your digital camera, and record a movie of it playing on your monitor. It'll take a couple of attempts for a good recording.
