Hi.
I was refused entry to the BM lounge at LBA. I was traveling on a reward business/first ticket LBA/BRU and onto the states in First. I only have blue status and was told by the attendant " its not a BM lounge but a service-air lounge so travel on a business ticket does not allow you entry". No big deal but I was not aware of this.
Is there a list of BM lounges anywhere that shows entry criteria

FWIW The attendant looked pleased with herself informing me of this.

Still a puzzle as to why they refer to the LBA lounge as a BMI business lounge yet exclude business pax.

BTW. I was on a *A first Ticket LBA/LAX which is why I thought I would have been allowed enty.

I believe the ability to do this is a pre-requisite for anyone wanting to work in a contract lounge. The ability to not understand the rules in the first place gives them bonus points too...

It's a crap lounge anyway.. you're best parking yourself with the Alicante Scummers downstairs and amusing yourself with the Chavtasticness of it all!!

It's always been a Diamond Club lounge that lets in DC Gold, Silver and Star Gold members only.

The standard of the lounge at LBA is indeed really poor these days. It was really cool in 1990.

It must be Servisair's oldest lounge? Anyone know if they are holding out for the new extension to do something to bring it up to speed with their offerings in other airports?

I know its dated, I know the wine choice is rubbish, I know there are no windows, I know the chairs are really uncomfy, I know your banned from taking a newspaper away (if there are any left to read), yep I know I shouldn't so why do I really like the lounge at LBA? Its a friendly little place, the staff are a bit of a throwback to 1986 but is that really that bad when it means they are normally very professional and a bit friendly if your nice to them?

Give them a break, the lounge ladies (and gents) in actual diamond clubs sometimes get the rules mixed up so a contract lounge will make mistakes occasionally too, plus they've had to get used to fewer and fewer business travellers and more and more charter, jet2 other customers non-status customers who probably, in their minds, bring the tone of their classy little Yorkshire lounge down :D

Oh, and you get toast in the morning (well you did the last time I flew out in the morning anyway), I don't know another DC lounge offering that :p

I agree the staff are normally pretty good.

It's certainly a different place to what it was only a few months ago in terms of clientele.

Nostalgia is all well and good. But do we really have to wait until they actually turn off the analogue TV signal to see if they will replace the single TV in the corner?

And as you say, it's a good job bmi regional are the UK's most punctual airline, otherwise we'd all be suing for piles and bad backs!
