DownUnderFlyer Aug 1, 09, 8:30 am I only had a look at it during my last visit to Las Vegas but didn't stay there. While it look okay, I would most probably check-out the new MO once it opens. l'etoile Aug 1, 09, 9:55 am It's nice. It's all suites (although the basic suites are one long room with the bedroom, sitting area and some kitchen things, though I can't recall what appliances). The rooms/suites are nicely appointed. I liked that there was no casino. If you book, make sure you are not on the side of the railroad tracks. The spa is very nice. I would definitely recommend getting a treatment there. ajinlondon Aug 1, 09, 11:55 am It is usually the cheapest hotel in that category of deluxe hotels in Vegas, you can also get even cheaper rooms via Jet Living who rent out the part of the complex, had a client stay there for $89 over a weekend and thought it was excellent value. l'etoile Aug 1, 09, 12:41 pm It is usually the cheapest hotel in that category of deluxe hotels in Vegas, you can also get even cheaper rooms via Jet Living who rent out the part of the complex, had a client stay there for $89 over a weekend and thought it was excellent value. The cheapest rooms are on the RR tracks ... off the tracks are about 50 percent more. If Jet Living gets you off the tracks for $89 that's an excellent deal. travelsavant Aug 1, 09, 1:26 pm It is usually the cheapest hotel in that category of deluxe hotels in Vegas, you can also get even cheaper rooms via Jet Living who rent out the part of the complex, had a client stay there for $89 over a weekend and thought it was excellent value. $89 rate is available direct from hotel on the Suite Escape package; it's for a studio room + $50 spa credit (on any service of $150+). Rate is good through Sept '09. Kagehitokiri Aug 1, 09, 6:59 pm in this economy especially, the one thing about private rentals is things like foreclosures. but trump actually has a 25% off deal for 4 nt min stays. really cheap. would also be great deal if top suite upgraded to penthouse via FHR etc. KenJohn Aug 2, 09, 12:52 pm The issue with the Trump is that it is technically off-strip and that puts off loads of people. If you are happy to take taxis in LAS most of the time and want to avoid casino in your own hotel then its fine. It is a short walk to the far end of the Fashion Show Mall. Personally, I would regard Fashion Show Mall and the Wynn as being at the end of the main strip. My objections to taxis is not the cost but the traffic on the strip. The traffic is cause of cars trying to turn into hotels but the traffic lights allow pedestrians crossing to take precedence. It is really a silly system coming form the UK. New York traffic is caused for the same reason. Most people would prefer to stay on the main strip as it is an easy walk from hotel to hotel. Norton26 Aug 2, 09, 1:14 pm I stayed there Mid May 09 with my wife and liked it... it is a virtual clone to the rooms at the MGM Signature which is also 4 star +... We had a one bedroom suite with full kitchen in both places... The Trump is on the RR tracks as mentioned, the bellman advised me the trains toot their horns loud and clear around 5AM each morning... the hotel was not busy and I had a room on the quiet side. As mentioned, the hotel is just off the strip. But my wife preferred the location across from the LV Fashion Mall... that's across from the Wynn. This is normally a $200-300 per night hotel... so anything less is a bargain imo... although, there are plenty of bargains to be had in LV these days! Norton Hi, For, anyone who have stayed in LAS would you recommend the Trump? elitetraveler Aug 2, 09, 1:25 pm I stayed at the Trump in June as I was attending a show split between the Wynn and Sands/Venetian, so it was convenient for my purposes. Most of all, I found via Kayak.com a rate of about $85 per night, and since we had about eight people, and were trying to save money, decided to give it a try. First of all, it is nice not to be in a gaming hotel while on business. The lobby is quiet, and there is a nice lobby lounge good for drinks and snacks with friendly and fairly efficient service. The rooms are nice and include kitchenettes. The bathrooms were big and well laid out. Room service was fast and friendly, and the food was fine. Housecleaning however was a total disaster, and numerous complaints did nothing to improve it. Laundry backs and chits not replaced Towels not replaced Bathrobe not replaced Service items left in the sink Laundry not picked up from the room Again, this happened despite daily notations and complaints. What began as a small demerit really brought me to the point where I meant to write Mr. Trump to get management at the hotel squared away. What really annoyed me was after two times laundry not being picked up, I began the practice of bringing it to the concierge desk on my way out in the morning. This worked until one day, a different concierge refused to accept my dirty laundry in a bag. I went to the front desk, got the duty manager and once again checked off what was lacking from the previous days house cleaning. Again, more apologies, no improvement. That said, the gym is nice and was free and the pool is nice and relaxing and when I was there was not overrun. Of course, the rate was incredible - about half of what the Wynn, Venetian or Palazzo wanted for the dates. Kagehitokiri Aug 2, 09, 1:42 pm ouch. so its cheap but... trump rates base $89 > $289 ($1200 PH) 25% off base $67 > $217 ($900 PH) palms place is $159 / $309 its half the size of trump, but you cant guarantee view Norton26 Aug 2, 09, 3:00 pm Unlike Elite, I checked in one evening and out early the next morning... so housekeeping was not a factor on my stay...
