I was booking a flight from JFK-IST and onwards to middle east and was wondering if it was possible to check your booking class prior to booking. does anyone know is that's possible?
I'm not going to call turkey ;)
See dannybhoy's post in this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/turkish-airlines-miles-smiles/813428-how-determine-fare-class.html).

no luck. i need to put in credit card details number in the end of a TK number. im not the first and im not putting in a TK number. i didnt see them anywhere... has anyone given that a shot... i didnt see a class up to that point unless i need to go one step further.
No need for a TK number, and if you choose "ticket by office - reservation only" instead of "electronic ticket" you will not need to give your credit card number.
I just tested this with a dummy booking from New York to Jeddah, and could see fare class E and H.

still having trouble. my country is set as US. maybe that's why i dont get the office to pick "ticket by office". Is your country set to Turkey? I havent tried that out yet. I only see electronic ticket as a possibility of booking.
My country is "international". I also get electronic ticket as the only possibilty at a booking I was looking at. Tell me what you're looking for, and I'll give it a go and see if I can find the booking class.
They don't make it easy, do they?

Best bet in this situation I'd say would be to got ITAsoftware.com, make the same booking, check the same times as your flights, and cross your fingers that is what end's up being booked. If not, TerminalA.com usually displays booking class.

From my dummy bookings, there are 2 ways to see the booking class.
First is on the Ticket Options/Payment Options page which for me I only have E-Ticket/Credit Card. Below that, on the "Confirmation" sentence that has the box for you to tick to confirm that you will abide by the T&Cs, there is an underlined link of fare notes which when clicked ouht to give you a pop-up that has a 6 digit alphanumeric code which I understand that the first letter (usually D in the case of the business class fares that I dummy) is usually (but apparently not always) the booking fare code. Something like this (obviously it changes depending on what your itinerary and dates are):
02 BKK-PAR FR-26MAR10 TK NUC 1111.95 DRT5BK
With the alphanumeric code the last 6 digits/letters which I highlighted.
Second, is the way I mentioned it in a previous post which AHN has pointed out. I just dummied a booking (above) and it generated on the seat selection page that the booking class was indeed D.
I have no idea why swy000 is unable to generate a booking class.
dannybhoy, just as an example try a dummy booking for JFK-IST-JED, August 21 - 28. For this I can make a reservation, and this allows me to make seat selection and thus see the individual flights with their booking class (M for all 4 in this instance).
Sometimes this option is available, at other times not. I haven't played around with it enought to find a pattern here, but perhaps it is only available for flights within a certain time frame?

Could be. Most of the flights I've dummied are at least a couple of months in the future, I've not dummy booked for travels taking place within a month. As for booking class, I did a dummy booking on the date parameters you suggested for J fares for both BKK-IST-CDG and JFK-IST-JED. Both itineraries generated "the pick up at sales office" option and both generated booking classes - D in the case of BKK-IST-CDG and a mix of D and C for JFK-IST-JED.

I am flying LHR-IST-HKG on 14/08 but was only able to see occupancy in Business class. Can anyone check F class for me?

I think you have to call TK for F availability. The methods discussed here for identifying booking classes on TK's website require the class of travel (Economy, Business etc.) being able to be selected online. AFAIK, F cannot be selected online on TK's website.

thanks , business class is only 1/3 full so hopefully F class will be the same , though I hope I am not the only one in it.

While not absolute, IST-HKG on the 14th is showing availability of F3 and the seatmap has four seats showing as pre-assigned. So at least four or five passengers are currently booked in the F cabin.

thanks , I prefer there to be others in the cabin.
apparently it depends on the destination for some ticketing... some destination dont offer the 'pickup office' option. that's fine...
i found a cheaper fare on another website and called the website. they informed me i was Q class economy. which is 100% earning. that was my concern... i dont want classes X I and O...those dont have any earning potential at all...

You won't get X, I, O anyway. They are award classes.
X/Economy
I/Business
O/First

seriously? hehe and to think of all the trouble i went to. good to know. so all classes flown on TK earn 100% then (more if higher classes obviously). that should be fairly simple then! thanks!

Except G/Class. In some cases, you cannot earn miles on this class.
This is a very very discounted fare class.
