I just got back from a stay with the family.
Check-in: Went fairly smoothly. Not much of a line. My PC Plat status was recognized and I was given a booklet of 25 $1 HI Bucks to spend just about anywhere on property. (They did not provide free or discounted breakfast.) I was also given 4 coupons for free drinks at the local bar. The coupons covered up to $10 each off any drink.
Room: Was told all the rooms are pretty much the same. They all have balconies open toward the ocean. The lower level rooms, though, don't have much of an ocean view. I was given a room near the top floor. The room did have nice new widescreen TVs with DVDs connected to them. ^
Property: The hotel is pretty large and the pool area can get crowded with kids and families. The pool is fairly plain, but large. There is also a kiddie pool and a large jacuzzi. Next to the jacuzzi is a children's waterpark play area. It isn't too extravagent, but smaller kids would probably love it. The hotel is right on the beach, so you have direct access to Panama City's beaches.
Parking: No charge for parking, but the hotel parking is on the other side of the highway from the hotel. There is a drive and walkway under the road from the hotel lobby area to the parking area though. And at certain times, the hotel has a small shuttle bus to pick you up and drop you off.
Overall: Definitely not a high end "resort" hotel, but if you have smaller children and the hotel has a good rate or promo deal going, its not a bad hotel at all. BTW, I stayed using a couple of my built up free nights. ^
