The new terminal is taking shape and with the redesign of Terminal A it looks very promising with their new restaurant selections. Illys Coffee, Peets Coffee and Tea, The Le Boulanger and other restaurants are opening in August.

It looks like SJC is taking after European airports to offer better quality dining. I love Illy's Coffee and had it at the CDG airport.

Its nice to see that Terminal C will be demolished soon. Its way past its prime.

I'm glad to see some of the benefits are starting to appear. I am so sick of the hassle of trying to navigate around the airport and have it all look like a junkyard.

Its great that SJC is getting bigger, it'll be able to accommodate a lot more flights, and hopefully drive down prices some. On the other hand I've always felt it was a faster airport due to its size in terms of getting dropped off and getting through security. Guess thats part of the trade off.

Having been to SJC a couple of times over the last couple of years, I'll be happy to see the construction finished, although I have to admit that I didn't find it to be a terrible hassle. I'll likely be back there in January, though, and have some curiosity about what it's looking like since I was last there (summer '08).

I don't think the size of the airport was a limitation on the number of flights available or the destinations served. SJC has been losing service because of lack of passengers. AA and UA have both cut back severely - AA has eliminated nonstops to NRT, BOS and JFK, as well as much of their west coast service and UA has ended nonstops to IAD and even ORD.
