Thank you flugvergnugen Jul 28, 09, 9:55 pm Stayed at the Holiday Inn Continental - I believe there is another HI a little closer to the city center. The HI Continental was fine - rooms were quite nice, and it's close to the Campo Pequeno subway station, so transportation is good. There were a few restaurants in the immediate area. ACC2008 Jul 29, 09, 3:32 pm Thanks for this info. I did notice CONTINENTAL and it looks like a business hotel. I am more thinking of a hotel they call LISBON on Av. Antonio Jose (It is actually Holiday Inn LISBON). greatly appreciate some reviews on it. Thank you keisari Jul 29, 09, 4:05 pm I stayed in this hotel twice and enjoyed it very much. Great staff, superb location, very nice breakfast and large, modern rooms with great internet connection. Classy 4* hotel at a very nice price. http://www.hotel-marquesdepombal.pt/ You can also rent a car with Avis on the premises if you are traveling outside Lisbon. It is close to the metro stop and the bus stop from the airport. There is also a taxi stand 1 block away. Around the corner I had dinner at a great restaurant called 33. It seemed very crowded for lunch but was quieter for dinner. Great food with impecable service. cloudcuckooland Jul 29, 09, 6:42 pm This is where we will be staying on one of our honeymoon stops: http://www.avenidapark.com/en/index.html We booked four nights for just $315 Canadian. It's also very well-located. I'll report back on all the places we stay; this is probably going to be one of the best! cloudcuckooland Jul 29, 09, 6:47 pm I stayed in this hotel twice and enjoyed it very much. Portugal seems a great country to find hotel bargains; the **** was very reasonable! ACC2008 Jul 30, 09, 7:56 am Thanks for this information. MichaelCharlie Jul 30, 09, 4:30 pm It wouldn't be my first choice of location as a tourist, but at least the subway system is close. |
