in order to have an influence on el-al, we created a group in face book where we can discuss changes needed in the company, more members and more id required in order to be able to take care of the entire el-al family and bring our wishes with power to the attention of el-al.

lets create the UNION of the MATMID members

with this group we will get enough power and possibility to help the traveling members and sugest el-al on many issue where they think they know better then us.

we will let know el-al what really we are expecting from them and what really we want to get for the money and loyalty we give them.

Welcome to FlyerTalk shaq323. Looking forward to hearing about your travels and the tricks of the trade you've uncovered.

There have been a few attempts at FaceBook groups for Matmid members. None have really panned out. Do a search on Facebook here in the El-Al Matmid section.

Why do we need a Facebook group if we have this forum? I'd rather we all just stay here.

I'm my self a TOP Platinum in EL-AL, for the last few years i got to know a lot of people during my flights, this people don't go to forums, etc. on the other hand this people complain on many things they don't like in el-al, therefor i open this group and on my flights i will get this people to join this group and write things they would like to change, or things they want el-al to get attention on it.

as Top Platinum member i have good relation with the company, and my wish is to get el-al change things needed to be changed.

most of the people i know they are Gold, Platinum or TOP platinum and they will not go in to a forum or such thing to write their complain, they will call/write directly to el-al, and my prefer is to bring it with power to el-al, power of a group (UNION) and not everyone will write by them self

i hope this will work, and to have influence on the company on the name of all the members, so please cooperate, join the group and be part of the change

shaq323, I still disagree.

There are plenty of TPL's, PL's and GL's here on FlyerTalk. There are also a couple of LY employees who unofficially lurk here and there is ocassionally (very occassionally) an offical LY Rep (that's his username) on our forum.

Additionally, this forum enables those of us who prefer anonymity to remain as such whereas Facebook makes it more difficulty to avoid notoriety. What's more, FlyerTalk is a community of frequent flyers which is the appropriate host for this discourse. It allows customers from other airlines to participate and chime in on our issues as well, which can be very helpful.

No need to go to Facebook. Just stay here.

Dearest shaq323, those that don't go forums, don't discuss these things on a discussion section of a Facebook group. I would suggest that you steer them to the El Al section of FlyerTalk where they will get value far beyond the value they will get from a Facebook group dedicated to a single airline's program. Many of those that are Top Platinum (not sure why you put Top in all-caps but whatever) are also elite members of other programs and would benefit from FlyerTalk.

as Top Platinum member i have good relation with the company, and my wish is to get el-al change things needed to be changed.

I think I can probably speak for all of the regular and semi-regular posters in the El Al section of FlyerTalk in stating that we'd welcome you here with open arms and be happy for you to expose the issues raised and discussed here with the folks at El Al with whom you have a good relationship.

most of the people i know they are Gold, Platinum or TOP platinum and they will not go in to a forum or such thing to write their complain, they will call/write directly to el-al, and my prefer is to bring it with power to el-al, power of a group (UNION) and not everyone will write by them self

Why do you think that people who "will not go into a forum" will post about these issues on a social networking group? What is the difference between them? I know a TPL very well who erased his FB account because he realized that it is a place for idle and pointless chatter and a huge time sink. It is much more fitting to go to El Al with the power of a public forum with exposure thousands of members, including many El Al elites, to try to get things changed. FlyerTalk has proven important enough that many airlines and hotel chains and individual hotel properties have official representatives monitoring the threads and contributing to their companies CS efforts. Some of them even issue FlyerTalk-only promotions which have proved to be quite effective.

I, myself, am Gold and I use a two pronged approach. I write and discuss the issues here and I send emails to El Al and last week sent an SMS to Haim Romano.[/quote]

i hope this will work, and to have influence on the company on the name of all the members, so please cooperate, join the group and be part of the change

We are all more than willing to cooperate. Please join our FlyerTalk El Al community and be a part of the change. Creating yet another forum under the guise of a FaceBook group discussion doesn't serve your purposes IMHO.

So welcome again to FlyerTalk, shaq323, we look forward to your contributions to our community.

I think that FB doesn't have any added value for us.
You can tell all the FB group that they have to come here
and have a look.

I stay here.

And what exactly do you want to change in ElAL and why
do you think that a FB group will do it...
I think it will be better to have a VAad Ovdim of fqtv's
we can do a strike if we want to get something from ELAL:cool:

My opinion too is just to stick here

I'd ask the OP to encorage his friends to join us here, id will do us good to have more members, we'll enjoy more info, and have less sleepy days like we currently have:p

Lior's Vaad Ovdim idea is nice!...
I know many people reading the forum but dont participate, Things
can be found thru google, FB is bad idea... especially when the whole
group will start to get spam mails!

Being Top, Platinum, Gold or Silver, I know EL-AL always listen,
Write a mail to Romano and you will get an answer, Call the Service
Center and they will always take care of you.
The main difference between the levels is the amount of time
take things to be done.

I really can't see the interest of the FB group.
Normally, the group should be open to everyone, and everything is written in Hebrew.
The majority of LY customers may be Israeli, but there are also foreign customers; both Hebrew and English should be used, otherwise, this group is nonsense.
I prefer Flyertalk anyway

we already opened a group a few years ago, at one point it had over 40 members. now i think we are down to 20.

but i do think if the right people are in the group, we can organize much better. because now not onlky are we just nicknames, but people. We can also message the members.
Facebook is definetly the way of the future, i think alot of forums will move to facebook.

I'm a member of that group. You can message members here as well. I've seen no benefit of being a member of that group. On the other hand I've met scores of FlyerTalkers over the years through postings here. There is nothing inherently better about FB for setting up a meeting or organizing.
