Hi. Currently I am residing in the United states and I will be moving back to Singapore soon. In my one-year stay in the United States, I have bought around 15 portable hard drives (2.5 inches with no data in them) through an affordable online website, and I want to bring my precious drives back home to Singapore. I intend to put them all into my carry on baggage (weigh less than 5kg), but would I be subjected to security check issues such as them being mistaken as bombs or whatsoever? Anyone with such experience before? Or should i put them in my checked luggage? Any better advise or is there anything that I should look out for?

Thanks people! Any help would be deeply appreciated!

I've never brought THAT many hard drives, but I've Shuttle X27D mini computers through multiple times and they didn't even want to look in the box. As long as you spread them out sufficiently so that they can xray them, they won't care at security.

The TSA should not care. They can always swab them for explosives if they are concerned. Customs in Singapore may be a different matter.
