The Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles has re-launched a promotion offered in early spring to give away 50 free rooms via Twitter and the website on every Monday through August 31.
Today was the first day of the promotion to give away 50 free rooms for Monday through Friday stays this week. A couple of glitches delayed the 9am Twitter giveaway until 10am Pacific time.
The website was not up and running until around 2pm. I found availability for a free room tonight, but I am 300 miles away in Monterey and I didn't proceed with the booking. Free nights for Tuesday through Friday of this week were gone when I checked around 3:15pm.

That was nice of them. Looks like they are all gone, or I cant find any. Thanks OP, next time!

I don't understand why anyone would want to stay at this hotel even for free.

A Carl's Jr. on the corner of 6th and Grand and a couple of McDonald's in real sketchy areas w/ folks you definitely do not want to eat with. That's an excellent price for any LA hotel. Westins are always fine. They also give a mean facial there, they were really nice.

Not sure what axe you have to grind against them - we stayed there last year courtesy of Priceline and had a great stay. Not the most interesting neighbourhood, but plenty of transport options to see the area.

Most of those McD's in the jewelry district are closed. The one near the Metro stop on Fig is closed. Unsuspecting travelers are now safe from sketchy food! :p There are LOTS of Carl's Jr around though...

With half a dozen restaurants plus some quick food and deserts. Or...one could always go to the Palm, or Mortons, or American Place or any of the other dozen good restaurants within 4 blocks....or even stay in the hotel and eat at LA Prime, which does a pretty decent job with a steak too.
This hotel has renovated about half the rooms (I think 2 towers are pretty much done) and has been very SPG friendly. Parking is still expensive, but they dropped the price $10 (still $32!) a few months ago. There are many worse hotels in LA than this, spideo.

Havent seen these ones yet but yeah the BK and McD next to the Metro Stop 7th/MC are history. It was always a very strange audience in there anyway.
Now there are some Starbucks left, the Foodcourts at Macys Plaza and 7th&Fig. California Pizza Kitchen and Mortons as well as a few bistros. These close early though !
Dining at the Westin is decent, the Bonaventure Brewing Co and the Italian Restaurant (if still existent) were always iDine places as well ^

do they still have that restaurant that spins at the top?

I agree the room was not nice at all, but I liked their breakfast at least. I still would not pay for it though.

The room next to the elevator is the worse room you could have in that hotel. You can clearly see what's going on in the hotel room from the elevator. That just force you to have the blind close at all times. I guess there is a reason why they always give those rooms to the PL customers. I bet the 50 free rooms are the ones next to the elevator.

I think you are talking about the Angeleno Hotel !?
Or does the Steakhouse at the Bonaventure revolve as well ?
