I'm traveling to Barbados in FIRST on BA in september with my girlfriend thanks to their excellent 50% of miles redemption offer a while back.

I'm thinking of staying the Little Good Harbour:

I've heard the little good harbour has a great restaurant called the Fish Pot. This is important to me as I don't want to be stuck somewhere that serves poor all-inclusive food or generally poor food. I could only handle all inclusive if the food was amazing, and I just can't see that happening due to the business model....

I stay in 5 star hotels all the time for work, so the last thing I want is to rock up at the Hilton Barbados or somewhere gaudy, but I do want some comfort.... I also want somewhere romantic. Too much to ask? I've read all the reviews on trip advisor but wondered if anyone on here has stayed there?

I'm thinking of hiring a car is a must for this trip as it seems the hotel is a little secluded (a good thing for me).

Also does anyone has any tips for great restaurants?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Can't say that I have had the pleasure of spending time at the property but I have dined at the Fish Pot and it was pretty good.

Luck for you Barbbados is littered with lots of great restaurants and getting to them is not difficult at all, especially if you go ahead and rent that car.

All hotels have industry magazines and brochures that will help point you in the right direction.

Anyway, for a quick start you can check out this thread

Should be a good starting point.

I agree with johannesj. There are plenty of dining options in BGI, at all price levels and a variety of cuisines.

The BGI Hilton may not be a six star property, but you will not suffer even if you would be so unlucky as to stay there. Their first class restaurant, off the lobby (behind the check-in desk), offers a varied and well prepared menu, with a side helping of live jazz.

There is at least one earlier thread in this forum with additional hotel recommendations.

Be sure to sign up for the Barbados Gourmet Card (http://www.visitbarbados.org/gourmetcard) for restaurant discounts. Several of the better restos participate.

We stayed at the Little Good Harbour around 5 years ago and would strongly recommend the hotel and the Fish Pot restaurant. It was one of our best holidays in the Caribbean.

In fact we received a promotional email this week from them that I forwarded to my wife - she replied with some possible dates for me to consider booking...
