I just rented a economy car from Alamo in Phoenix (Sky Harbor airport). I filled out the form online for a 4 day rental. Total was 246.36 I then changed the " Where do you live" box from United States to United Kingdom. The total was 163.26 What's a real kicker is that all insurance is included. Test it at Alamo.com. When I went to the counter And showed my Maine driver licence they asked for proof of British residence. I pointed out that the web site says WHERE DO YOU LIVE not what is your residency. I said I live there half the year. They then asked for proof of that. I said I had none and that the web site did not mention that I would have to prove this. After this quick exchange they sent me on my way with a upgrade to Mid-size. Go figure. The girl at the counter claims this is to encourage tourism. If this is true They don't what Chinese because if you put that as where you live it says they are SOLD OUT. I tried it with many country's. Its a eye opener.
