I wasn't aware that Vantaa had started using the new terminal extension already (don't recall seeing any posts here). I departed from there last night on a long-haul flight. Only a couple of gates in use at this time as far as I can see, work still ongoing in the rest of the extension.
The new part seemed nice enough. Although the floor seems to be a bit squeaky for some reason (probably just my shoes, but they weren't squeaking in the old part of the terminal)!

Very true, it's partially open already!
I used gate 32 this morning to board AY831 to LHR.
They have exactly two gates open in the new area: 31 and 32. Rest of the new terminal area is still under construction and it's walled off with temporary walls.
The new spa areas are not open yet. Neither are any of the new shops.
I snapped some photos of the new gates, and also some photos of the area still under construction (some of these photos are taken over the barriers that you're not supposed to see over).
As a downside, the new area does not yet have Wi-Fi reception.
