When do your points start to show up after a purchase?

I already made purchases they show on my account I even paid 1 bill already but it was the first bill and I got it not even a week of having the card.

So when do the points start showing up?

Second question and I think the answer is yes Amex Membership rewards is better so transfer in. But I thought I would ask.

I have miles with delta, and points with hilton.

Do you think transfering in points to Membership rewards from those two programs are a good idea?

I ask because i think whats offered in exchange for points via Amex is much better than what delta has to offer.

I don't like to book reward tickets either I rather pay so that I can keep earning towards status.

Points usually show pending after close of statement. It is usually available 30 days later.

I will leave the points in MR until I need them as points transfer to Delta are usually instantaneous. You can wait until you need the miles before transferring them.

Unless I misunderstand the OP, he/she is asking about transferring points INTO MR from DL and HH. If that is the case, there is no way to do so. You cannot transfer miles/points into MR from anywhere else.

yeah I realized that last night, the transfer points page is confusing and misunderstood what it actually said.

If your two programs are Delta and Hilton, get yourself an Amex. I'm partial to the Platinum variety, even though it's got a hefty yearly fee, because it's got a 4:1 bonus mall with literally hundreds of retailers (Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.) If you're willing to take the time to buy stuff online, you can rack up points pretty fast. (Though you don't get big point multipliers using a plain Amex at a Hilton property - get an Amex Surpass if you're going to be doing a lot of Hilton stays.)

Also, be aware Amex runs promotions from time to time offering 30% bonus on points transferred MR>DL, so you can wait for one of those if you have points to spare lying around in your MR account. There's one running now, in fact, thru July 31.

And! The exchange rate to Hilton is good, you get 1300 HH for 1000 MR. This comes in handy ^

Unless you're looking to book an AXON or GLON award (or whatever they're called now), you may be better off using the MR pay-with-points feature (which most people consider a bad deal). Even when we could get 2:1 a few years ago by running points through DL or HA, I don't think that rate was all that great.
