From the Las Vegas Advisor:
July 21, 2009 Foundation Room Goes Public: The private members dining club at the top of Mandalay Bay is now open to the general public nightly from 11 p.m. It's an experiment, so if it's good, we should support it -- it's a gorgeous location with stunning views of the Strip. The longrunning Godspeed club night will continue on Mondays, with "Tapas Tuesdays" (appetizers, cocktails, acoustic music), DJs Wednesday through Saturday, and "Burlesque Jazz" on Sunday nights, with four dancers and a live three-piece jazz band. Sounds pretty cool. Cover's $20.

I'll definitely check it out the next time I'm in town...although I do think this will take away from the cachet of the place.

Nah, I haven't been there yet :p. If you do go, give us a report please.

I guess $4000 for memberships didn't work out.

The room itself is awesome, with an outdoor balcony overlooking the Strip, and incredibly decorated throughout. When I went there it was wall-to-wall crowded, and that was just members and guests of members. Also I had to go back to my hotel to change out of my sneakers.

Wow, Vegas TRULY is hurting.
An evening at this venue was a memorable experience for me. I'm not sure the view can be rivaled in Vegas; if indeed public, this would be a terrific place to enjoy during a visit.

"Hey, baby, why don't I rent a few cars and show you how big my FF balance is, if you know what I mean?"

;)

Yes, but will that still be true now that the guys there can no longer be presumed to have spent $4K of their spare cash on an annual FR membership.

Or staying in a high enough MGM suite (or have high enough MGM play level) to get on the list...

I definitely think this takes away some of the appeal, although depends on how busy it gets I guess. All of this is coming from a guy who's never been there, though.
