All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - AA Gold - upgrade for spouse?

Apologies if there was a thread like this - I am kind of new :)

I will be travelling via Finnair from Moscow to New York, business class. My spouse decided to join me and booked economy class on the same flight. Is there any way that he can sit with me in business upon the check in? Any advice?

1. This is the All Nippon Airways forum. I'm guessing you wanted either the Finnair forum or the AA forum.

2. I'd say highly, highly unlikely for your wife (presumably with no elite status) to be given a free upgrade.

If you want to pay, then of course they would process the upgrade with open arms.

3. AA Gold = Oneworld Ruby, which is the lowest level. Even if it was you, not her, that was booked in Economy, you'd be behind many people in the pecking order for an upgrade.
